Drs. Alex van Hooff (Vice-Chair)

Since 2004 my wife and I have been directors of Royal Burgers’ Zoo in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Burgers’ Zoo is a family business that has been around for over more than 110 years now. My great-grandfather Johan Burgers officially opened the zoo on 30 March 1913.

As an organisation we aspire to put our passion, wonderment and admiration for nature into the service of nature conservation, and we support conservation projects worldwide. It is also why we have sponsored Future For Nature from the very beginning. Every year, we donate a substantial amount through our foundation Burgers’ Zoo Conservation to FFN, to be used for the active work of young nature conservationists.
