Frans Lanting – 2021

At the Virtual Future For Nature Award event in 2021, world renowned nature photographer and conservationist Frans Lanting was the Guest of Honour. Born in the Netherlands, but currently settled in California, US, Frans is hailed as one of the great photographers of our time and his work has appeared in books, magazines and exhibitions around the world. He has travelled the world to showcase the beauty as well as the fragility of nature, and convey a sense of wonder and concern about our living planet.

At the digital award event in May 2021 Frans inspired the audience with his view about the current state of the world and the importance of young individuals, such as the FFN Award winners and the FFN Family. He urged everyone to play their part and secure a future for nature together.

“I look at the Future for Nature Foundation as a forest community with a few big trees nurturing young ones. Each young tree is given a chance to grow so they can thrive on their own ultimately, but they can also be stronger together. I consider every Future For Nature Award winner to be a seedling in a global forest of wildlife conservation.” FRAns Lanting
