Announcement: Future For Nature Awards Winners 2025!

March 11, 2025

From a pool of over three hundred international candidates, three young leaders in nature conservation have been selected to receive this years’ Future For Nature Awards. They stand out for their persistence, commitment and impactful initiatives. On Friday, May 16th 2025, Anthony Waddle, Kumar Paudel, and Ruthmery Pillco will receive this prestigious nature conservation prize and 50,000 euros each during the Future For Nature Awards ceremony. The Awards ceremony will feature distinguished cultural landscape ecologist and an expert on biodiversity Brigitte Baptiste as the guest of honour.

Anthony Waddle (34 years old) is a conservationist based in Australia, who dedicates his work to saving amphibians from one of the most devastating diseases known to amphibians: Chytrid fungus. It is Anthony’s mission to develop innovative, science-based solutions that can be directly implemented to save endangered amphibian species.

Kumar Paudel (33 years old) is a conservationist from Nepal who works to protect the world’s most trafficked yet often overlooked species — the pangolin. By combining scientific research, policy advocacy, and grassroots action, Kumar is building a conservation model that can be replicated across South Asia and beyond.

Ruthmery Pillco (33 years old) is a Peruvian conservation biologist who protects the fragile cloud forest of the Andes and all species that call this place their home. Her interdisciplinary approach combines field research, environmental education, and advocacy to ensure a holistic conservation model.

We celebrate their achievements at the Future For Nature Award Ceremony on Friday, on May 16th, 2025. This is an invite-only event. If you did not receive an email invitation with a personal registration code, you can join via our Livestream on our YouTube channel:
