Dr. Angela Cropper
Angela Cropper was our Guest of Honour in 2010, only two years before she passed away of cancer at the age of 66. Angela Cropper was co-founder and first president of The Cropper Foundation in Guyana, a non-governmental organization focussed on the promotion and sustainable development of natural resources.
From 2001 – 2005 Angela Cropper was co-chair of the Millennium Assessment Panel, a global programme to undertake a holistic scientific assessment of the state of eco-systems across the world. She was also coordinating lead author of the Caribbean Sea Ecosystem Assessment. Beyond Guyana, she was recognised around the region and the world as a champion of sustainability, the environment, equitable development and good causes generally.
