Vivek Menon

In 2008, during the first Future For Nature Awards event, Vivek Menon was our Guest of Honour. He is an award-winning wildlife conservationist, environmental commentator, author and photographer with a passion for elephants. He is the founder and executive director of the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI), and has been involved in founding five environmental and conservation organizations in India.

Since 2008 Menon has been part of the Future For Nature International Selection Committee. He is author/editor of eight wildlife books including the bestselling Field Guide to Mammals of Indiascores of technical reports and more than a hundred articles in various scientific and popular publications. Through his work with the WTI and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), he has pioneered the development of wildlife rehabilitation and health monitoring as conservation tools within India.
